Despite 2021 being nearly over, we are still in the tail-end of the Covid-19 pandemic, and with it, restrictions on gatherings.

Currently, as of November 2021, outdoor and indoor seated events can accommodate 500pax with the understanding that each cluster will be considered a bubble, with their own entrance and exit routes and with all measures taken for no mixing within other bubbles. Indoor standing events may also happen yet with numbers capped at 100. Important to note that all guests are to observe all mitigation measures and have to be fully vaccinated, showing their vaccine certification at the door.

What has evolved is the bubble concept – meaning that should the venue be flexible enough to handle separate entrances and exits, one could have bubbles of up to 500 seated and 100 standing both indoor and outdoor.

Gradually measures are being lifted and we are finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel, even though new variants have been highlighted emanating from the Southern African region. However, with close to 90%+ of the Maltese population being vaccinated, together with the government’s drive to administer vaccine booster shots to all, the future does not seem as bleak as it did 12 months ago.
